The recent Mercedes-Benz of Naples Dealer Championship raised $7,200 for The Immokalee Foundation’s newest program, Career Pathways: Empowering Students to Succeed.

Recognizing that some well-paying jobs do not require a four-year degree but rather professional certifications or a vocational education, The Immokalee Foundation has worked with educational partners and local industry leaders to develop a robust curriculum ensuring students have a pathway to in-demand careers that lead to financial independence.

This is the first year The Immokalee Foundation has been the beneficiary of the local Mercedes-Benz golf tournament. Their partnership began in 2016, when the dealership offered two-year leases on two cars for the foundation’s Charity Classic Pro-Am golf tournament each year since – a hole-in-one on each of the front and back nine holes.

“That partnership at the Pro Am led to supporting the foundation,” said Curtiss Alden, a consultant who has been involved with golf tournaments for the dealership for two decades. “Donating these tournament proceeds to The Immokalee Foundation was a way to strengthen our relationship.”

Supporting The Immokalee Foundation continues one of the dealership’s long-standing community goals: “We want to continue the process of breaking the bonds of poverty in Collier County,” Alden said.

The Immokalee Foundation provides a range of education programs that focus on building pathways to professional careers through support, mentoring and tutoring, and life skills development leading to economic independence.
