The Florida College Access Network (FCAN) is delighted to announce the appointment of Noemi Y. PerezPresident & CEO of The Immokalee Foundation, to its Board of Advisors. With an extraordinary track record in education and career readiness, Perez brings unparalleled expertise that aligns seamlessly with FCAN’s mission to ensure all Florida students have access to postsecondary opportunities and success.

“Noemi is a remarkable leader and advocate within Florida’s college access community,” said Marlene Spalten, Chair of FCAN’s Board of Advisors. “Her unwavering commitment to her hometown and innovative vision for education will provide invaluable perspectives as we work alongside community leaders to expand opportunities and empower students across the state.”

A proud native of Immokalee in Collier County, Perez leads The Immokalee Foundation with a focus on preparing students for in-demand careers through its nationally recognized Career Pathways program, which was recently recognized by Excelencia in Education. Her inspiring career is a testament to her unwavering belief in education as a transformative tool for creating opportunities.

Notably, Perez was named FCAN’s 2022 College Ready Florida Innovator, honoring her leadership in redesigning college-preparatory programs to better equip students with the credentials and skills needed for financial independence. Perez has also earned numerous accolades, including the 2024 Distinguished Alumni Award from the Greater Naples Chamber Leadership Collier Foundation and the 2024 Leadership Florida Impact Award for The Immokalee Foundation’s transformative community impact.

“I’ve seen firsthand the life-changing power of education,” Perez said. “As a proud member of the FCAN Board, I look forward to collaborating with other leaders to help create a future where every Florida student can access the tools and opportunities they need to thrive.”

Perez’s visionary leadership has earned her national recognition, including being named a 2024 Example of Excelencia by Excelencia in Education for her role in advancing Latino student success. Her personal story and professional achievements embody FCAN’s commitment to fostering a brighter future for all Florida students.
