Naples, FL – March 15, 2023 – The Immokalee Foundation has announced it received a $25,000 grant from Truist Foundation to support its award-winning Career Pathways program—a life-changing curriculum aligning perfectly with Truist Foundation’s goal of building career pathways to economic mobility for underserved communities.

The Immokalee Foundation’s Career Pathways program provides support for underserved youth in their pursuit of high-demand, high-paying careers in Southwest Florida. The four specific pathways include Business Management & Entrepreneurship, Education & Human Services, Engineering & Construction Management, and Healthcare.

Many well-paying jobs are also available to students who earn industry-recognized credentials, in addition to professions that require a college degree. Through the support of dedicated organizations like Truist Foundation, 100% of Immokalee Foundation students graduate from high school with at least one industry credential, and 100% enter a postsecondary program, the military, or obtain professional positions in their field of study within six months.

“The youth of Immokalee truly represent the future of Southwest Florida—as vital members of the workforce and as consumers,” said Noemi Y. Perez, President and CEO of The Immokalee Foundation. “On behalf of all the students who will benefit from their exceptional generosity, I’d like to express my heartfelt appreciation to Truist Foundation for their ongoing commitment to economic mobility—and the future of the community we share.”

The Immokalee Foundation enjoys a proud tradition of educational and professional support. For over 31 years, the organization has been preparing the next generation of leaders through a 100% focus on education, career readiness, and professional development for students in Immokalee—from kindergarten through postsecondary education.

“We’re proud to support The Immokalee Foundation’s Career Pathways program that creates opportunities for students to learn about and prepare for high-demand careers,” said Iwan Mohamed, West Florida regional president for Truist. “Truist’s purpose is to inspire and build better lives and communities and investing in programs like this can help ensure that our area’s students have accessible opportunities for their future success.”
