To drive economic opportunity for individuals and families, Bank of America recently awarded The Immokalee Foundation a $10,000 grant to support its robust career exploration initiatives. The grant was part of Bank of America’s broader initiative to invest in workforce development and education in disadvantaged and vulnerable communities.
For more than 30 years, The Immokalee Foundation has been preparing the next generation of leaders through a 100% focus on education, career readiness, and professional development for students in Immokalee—from kindergarten to postsecondary education.
For example, The Immokalee Foundation’s award-winning Career Pathways Program provides new pathways to success and financial independence through career exploration programming that prepares students for well-paying, in-demand professional careers in Business Management & Entrepreneurship, Education & Human Services, Engineering & Construction Management and Healthcare.

Through this funding initiative, Bank of America is focused on building pathways to employment by supporting a range of programs and projects at local organizations that offer career service centers, academic support, experiential opportunities, postsecondary education, workshops, and scholarship and financial aid assistance — a goal seemingly tailor-made to the Foundation’s innovative education-based programming.
